@Svittidiu it's not madness. it's called a case study. they didn't do this for no reason. they helped him lessen the severity of his seizures. isn't that a good thing? he can still function properly, unless someone gave him an eyepatch, because both eyes would process the same things in real life.

@SUREdotdotdot it's because different parts of the brain is in charge of different functions. the right brain is more "sub conscious" and the left brain is more conscious because we notice our analytical part more because the left brain also deals with language. right brain deals more with pictures and feelings...so he did see it, it's just that only his left eye saw it, so only his right brain comprehended it. his right eye did not, so his left brain could not say what it was.

He went to hit the person with his right brain controlled left hand, and his left brain controlled right hand reached over and stopped his left hand from striking the person. I kind of figured they covered one eye or something, and maybe sometimes they do, but this thing of focusing on a point and letting the images seep in makes the point even better. I just see some misguided adults trying to make a young child lay down with no friends or toys when he probably wasn't tired! He resorted to kicking because he couldn't deal with the situation. Why didn't someone take him outside to play with him. Instead they abused their power and control. He looked too old to be napping in the day. Some children have "bad behavior" despite the parents best effort to help the child stop. Some children are wired different and are harder to help. I am a parent of a child like this and I've done it all and things seem better for a while, but it never lasts. We spank, do timeouts, grounding, have calm rational conversations, meds, therapy and even had to hospitilize her...nothing works as a long term solution...I just have to remain calm(very hard to do) and help her through it. ~T~

Sorry, but where is the example on how to have dealt with that child better? I find this video not very helpful, just to simply say that someone handled something badly and not give a concrete example of better teaching. Maybe because there is not always a quick solution for everything. It's so easy to criticize caretakers/parents and so hard to do it yourself.

I've seen worse than this, and it can drive the teacher to the breaking point. When that little boy didn't want to go on his mat for naptime, it was a problem because: 1. It's disruptive. 2. The teacher can't bend the rules just him. But too often, the parents don't train the kid to behave at home. See the Supernanny episode THE WESTONS.

Traits overlap in different aspects of the "races", from skeletal structure, to pigmentation, to various immuno-competences, etc. Taking just skeletal structure you can quantify traits and assign them to race, but the assigned skeletal races do not fit exclusively when studying other traits and assigning races to them. So, unless you're prepared to assign hundreds of races from all the variables, there's no point.

Southern Europeans mixed with arabs in the past, that's why they have darker hair/skin, though still caucasian. It's true there's a continuum, but just because there is gray doesn't mean the colors black or white don't exist.

Yes but alot of these genes we believe are related turn out not to be the reason at all, for instance it was believed that blonde hair and blue eyes were completely linked to one another at one time but how do we explain the fact people can be born with black hair dark skin and blue eyes or vice versa. I study genetics in college, in my second year, and there are really alot more similarities between all humans than there are differences. Why not?, if I found them attractive I would.

Fox and human genomes are very different. If melanin content is related to aggression in one mammal, an oddly unpredictable link, why not humans? Reasonable theory. Tallness is primarily found in northern european countries. A nation's overall mating pool matters most, individuals don't have much effect in evolution, since we only live 80 years or so. I recommend mating with an aborigine, if you believe there's no difference. Or better yet, a sub-saharan african. Do what you believe!

If the experiment were duplicated using a larger genetic range (these were all from the same "farm") the result could be different colorings. Just like over many generations different areas developed races (eg: swedish blondes) there are still obviously people within each race with a wide range of temperaments. Hint: If it were compulsory, if there were such a law, they'd have no choice and would always treat you fairly. Since they don't always treat you fairly, we can deduce that it's not compulsory or inevitable. Perhaps that's more than a hint. :-)

Yeah really enjoyed that. I think for me, in terms of the three acceptances, Unconditional-Other-Acceptance is the hardest one to comprehend. I believe that people should treat me as fairly as I would treat them and cannot and will not accept that they may from time to time treat me unfairly. I guess this means I hold onto inflexible irrational beliefs.

I achieved something I wanted, to not feel rage when people treated me unfairly. Also I wanted be good at sports, was able to see how my beliefs were limiting my ability to reach full potential, creating new beliefs(not shown in video)worked for me. Want to achieve new things, look at your beliefs, make sure your beliefs are good and not limiting you. Got cut from 8th grade basketball team doesn't mean that you can't be varsity in high school, change "B" from I suck to I work harder than anybody

i think that if you want something to achieve, you are already in situation (A) and if that A cause a negative emotion ("bad emotion" - C} you can use REBT to find and change your irational belief {B} that stand in your way to get what you want, your goal. There are parallels to the techniques of attending to "suffering" in Buddhism with that of CBT techniques given that both attend to the question of thinking. But CBT is a science based technique and is not engaging the question of Divinity or God or Being, but rather the Psyche. Perhaps the debate sits in the thinking that separates these two disciplines?

(2) Baby's will not initially fear a lion's attack since they haven't learned about dangerous animals yet. However, instinctual startle reaction may occur if lion makes loud sounds. Livenowdoing - i agree with your statements. However, on the front line it's very difficult to encourage clients to do what you advocate. Like you said, it is the medium of masters. CBT reaches out to the masses as it is socially constructed rather than culturally, like buddhism. Unfortunately, many people are unable to turn on to buddhism because their lives are too intwined which social constructs. Besides, therapy needs a model and after all CBT is based on buddhism principles, fundamentally.

Zen masters, yogis and Buddist monks are all able to free themselves from thinking to varying degrees. They accomplish this after years of meditation and guidance from masters. Thank you for your thoughtful comments. Actually, we cannot eliminate thinking. We think about something every conscious minute of every day. Even the spiritual practices cannot eliminate thinking. What you just expressed are your thoughts. As a matter of fact, we teach in RLT that the statement, "I feel that" actually means, "I think that" because there is no actual emotional feeling as "that the thinking that thinks..." Every action (except a basic reflex) is preceded by a thought.

whats sad about the cookin industry is that the pressure is intentse, the speed is killer and the precision and room for error is minimal. and for that we're pretty much at the bottom of the paylist compared to other jobs with the same education time. I earn 16-20k before taxes (norwegian) as a cook with diploma. my brother earns 25-28k a month before taxes as a construction worker with diploma. we have both 2 years of school and 2 years of apprentiship. And chefs works late and weekends...
