John should have answered or dealt with Vin in a much more polite manner.. But yeah most of you call AOL Cancellation out there because u have a problem with your service and 90% of the people do it w/out thinking as they feel if they cancel the account the internet gets faster or it will connect. a lil secret, those who cancel their AOL will eventually pop in another free cd somewhere down the line..bcz all of us love anything free.!Anways , Moral - Any Cancellation team will try to retain u.

@*** everyone who comments on this post. I worked for AOL for 3.5 yrs, handling over 20,000 cancellation calls. The guy above was lying as he used his internet for 545 hours . He wanted to record the call & get some cheap publicity. John rubbed it in bcoz he saw over 500 hours (a month is 744 hrs) & vin's response of not using it was absurd. (I was working on shift that night & we at AOL know how many hours, time and date someone logs in) ..

Yeah, companies (AOL among them) actively push the employees to keep people from cancelling accounts or whatever. Some direct people who want to cancel to the "retention department", whose sole function is to annoy people so much that they give up on cancelling. Some even give the employees a quota of customers they must keep.

can we sue AOL, this happend to me also. I called to cancel, they wouldn't cancel, I called a few times, finally they canceled and I asked for a confirmation number. Next month I saw another charge on my cc, I called, and they said I never cancelled. So I canceled again, this went on almost 6 months. I never got refunded.

I'm still trying to cancel AOL and I started the process in 1998, my god I had Road Runner, then DSL, now I got Fiber Optics with VZ. I still can't cancel it. I thought I would be a member for life then they stopped being a provider, now I'm a free member of AOL Mail and still can't cancel it :(

If I had to deal with customer service like this just to cancel something, I'd simply cancel my credit card instead, so when they tried to charge it, they wouldn't get their money, and they'd be forced to just shut the account off. I think that would be an easier solution than having to go through all this.

All you need to say is "I understand that you are trying to help me but there isn't a problem that you can remedy, I just really do want to cancel my account" instead of taking a tone with them. It happened to me for 3 months after I canceled with them so I finally had to go and cancel my bank card and get a new account. They are notorious for this. Does anyone have any quotes on how much RAM AOL actually uses while running? I've only used AOL briefly, because it was my grandmother's computer I had to use for a few days. I was sick of the interface after an hour. I still don't really understand the point. The most retarded thing is making a windowed desktop for you to keep all your AOL applications inside. @nicolasvelai All of the AOL Sessions are mildly tweaked. If you go and listen to other artists during AOL Sessions they all sound abnormally pitch perfect. Which isn't to say that the only reason they sound good is because of technology, because a good chunk of why it sounds great is because of obvious natural vocal talent. But with auto-tune, it just glosses over all the performances and touches them up a little. No one's perfect.

@craftjack It's ok, there's nothing wrong with auto-tune. I'm not one of those who think that using autotune means you cant sing. I actually posted a couple of comments on this vid, discussing about if Pierre is computed-assisted. And btw, this is a live session (thats right, in a studio...) and this isnt the final version of the song in the album

@nicolasvelai actually they're in a studio and they have voice editors in there. Pierre still has a good voice when he performs live but in the studios they edit their voices so more people will download their music like every other band.

@nicolasvelai I'm pretty sure that they are using it. There is a somewhat non-natural sounding affect on Pierre's voice, tho there were some minor vocal mess ups, autotune won't be perfect unless it is tweaked a LOT, and that's usually to the point where you wouldn't even be able to tell that the voice is being corrected by a computer
